A celebration of precision engineering

In 1964 Soichiro Honda’s engineering genius stunned the racing world when he unveiled his company’s miniaturisation concept in its world-beating Honda Six, the most iconic grand prix motorcycle ever built.

His creation would go on to dominate 1960s world championship racing and this standard of engineering remains the cornerstone of the Honda Motor Company.

The most luxurious engineering budget and an army of passionate race engineers, inspired by the company founder, achieved the seemingly impossible - to defeat the new wave of two-stroke challengers with a four-stroke engine.

Delivering the
four-stroke promise

They did it by taking precision engineering to a new level at whatever cost. It almost bankrupt the company, but Soichiro Honda was driven by a brand of determination never seen before in grand prix racing. He knew that winning was everything and was prepared to bet the company on delivering that promise.

This remarkable story, the scale of which can never be repeated, is being commemorated by Honda Motor Company in a special 60th Anniversary Honda Six watch which mirrors the compact precision of the company’s remarkable engineering lineage.

Honda have authorised renowned classic motorcycle expert George Beale to deliver the project based on the trust he developed in re-creating 10 immaculate replicas of the Honda Six and the luxurious coffee table book on this engineering journey, also featured on this website.

A nod to the unique
six-cylinder marvel

George in turn has commissioned Swiss watch manufacturers, Baresi and Caine, to craft these outstanding investment timepieces at their La Chaux-de-Fonds headquarters near Geneva.

In a nod to the unique six-cylinder marvel, the commemorative timepiece is a representation of the legendary 250cc grand prix machine which later appeared in an over-bored form to add the 350cc World Championship to its pedigree.

The unmistakeable livery of the machines which took an ear-piercing signature engine note to every world championship circuit, flows through the immaculate creation.
